Doves Kitchen by Joya™ is an ideal and concept inspired by my Swedish grandmother Maud (Michele) Bryant of Stockholm. Everything in her home was beautiful and functional, when needed. The scent of French Madeleine cookies with cardamom baking often greeted me at the door, and always with a very warm cup of Mandarine Orange Spice tea. My mother also had a knack for being incredibly industrious with using what she had and making it useful, artistic and lovely. I come from a long lineage of women who see their homes as their dominion and fortress and at times a refuge for others with hospitable Joy! The Doves Kitchen is a product line to support those ideals of an inviting, prepared, beautiful and functional kitchen and home. I also, for many years, would out of necessity use what I had. For example, taking an old dresser and turning it into a kitchen island for storage w cutting boards and reused hardware for hanging hand towels or convert an ordinary bookshelf into a self standing, useful pantry for ceramic bowls and dishes! I make or find these European Country style kitchen and housewares ranging from Antique, new or repurposed. From Art for the kitchen to beautiful linens to love seats to sit and have your tea time. And yes, I sell china too and may I encourage you to bring out your beautiful antique dishes and use them daily- I do!
